MANOJ MAJOOMDAR OF GURKHA LAND STUDENTS OF MR. G.B. GIRI MANOJ IS ANOTHER TARA'S STUDENT WINNER OF MR. ASIA GOLD MEDAL AT 53rd. ASIAN BODYBUILDING CHAMPIONSHIPS AT MAGNOLIA HELD FROM 25-29TH. JULY 2011 UNDER THE BANNER OF ASIAN FEDERATION OF BODY BUILDING & FITNESS FEDERATION and IFBB IBBF The Indian Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation is the only representative of IFBB the ultimate body to control bodybuilding sport on Earth. He has all regards and thanks for his mentor Mr. G.B. GIRI of GURKHALAND IBBF Vice President. Manoj Kumar Majumdar, a student of TARA (National School of Bodybuilding, Jalandhar, Punjab) is a known face of bodybuilding fraternity who has won many national and international awards. He has started his bodybuilding in 1999 in Star Fitness Centre. Since then he is competiting inspite of going through several hurdles. In 2004 he has lost his father who was in Indian Army but his mother is the biggest inspiration to him. She wholeheartedly support him even kept her jewellery mortgage when Manoj went to Asian Championship in Mongolia. Manoj has completed his M.Sc in Zoology from North Bengal University and presently a School Teacher. According to Manoj “ Siliguri is a small town in Darjeeling, we don’t have that level of infrastructure and even Govt. Help or sponsorships, we have to go from pillar to post to prepare ourselves for the competitions. I’ve visited TARA in July, 2011 for advance training and the result is Gold in Asian championship in Mongolia, twice 4^th place in Mr. Universe. Before my visit to TARA, I really didn’t acquaint of the Weider’s Principle, Carb loading, sodium depletion, off season training, anabolic diet etc. etc. which are very much essential to know for modern bodybuilding competitions especially international levels and I think this is the reason why Premchand, Ghuman, Hiralal and many others became international stars in bodybuilding from Punjab. But it’s not possible for the amateur bodybuilders of other states to go to TARA but Presently Dr. Hastir’s continuous efforts of arranging CBT Camp across India make the bodybuilders and gym trainers efficient enough to train scientifically and enable them to think beyond limits. We the bodybuilders really thankful to Dr. Hastir for his perseverance and contribution to the Indian of Bodybuilding”. Here is a synopsis of Manoj’s bodybuilding career

Mr. Asia - Gold (55 Kg. bodyweight category) in 2011 in Mongolia.
Mr. Universe – 4^th place twice (60 Kg. bodyweight category) in Mumbai, in South America in 2011,2012 respectively.
Jr. Mr. India – Gold & Silver (55 Kg. bodyweight category) in 2008 & 2009 respectively.
Sr. Mr. India – Best Poser, Bronze (Twice) & 4^th place (55 Kg. bodyweight category) in 2012, 2010 & 2009.
Sr. Mr. Eastern India – Gold & Silver (55 Kg. bodyweight category) in 2009 & 2007 respectively.
Jr. Mr. Bengal - First Place ( 55 Kg. bodyweight category) in 2006 in Kolkata.
Mr. North Bengal – Overall champion in 2008, 2009.
Siliguri Sree - Overall champion in 2007
Mr. Darjeeling – Overall champion 2005-2009
Gorkha classic open BB championship – Overall champion in 2009

He is the recipient of “Player of The Year Men, 2011” In W.B and has felicitated by the Himalayan Nature and Adventure Foundation, University of North Bengal, Siliguri College, Udayan Samity Sport library (Govt. Spon), Siliguri Municipal corporation and may other organizations in his native town.
